Building

Over the past decade at Topham Guerin, I've overseen the build of 1,000+ websites and 50+ web applications across political campaigns, government projects, and corporate work.

Most of this work is invisible by design. Sometimes it's confidential corporate work, at other times it's campaign infrastructure that does its job and disappears, including dashboards, outreach tools, and platforms handling millions of interactions during election cycles.

I don't share client work publicly, but the patterns and problems show up in everything else I build.

AI tools

I've been building internal AI tools for TG since 2023. Partly to solve real problems at the agency, partly as a testing ground for what's actually possible now versus what's still hype.

  • The main project is an internal operating system. A single platform replacing the patchwork of SaaS tools we were paying too much for and that never did what we actually wanted. Employee directory, project management, wiki, brand library, AI prompts, analytics. One login, built around how we work. The rule is simple: if we're paying for software that frustrates us, we build our own.

  • Beyond that, I've built a research orchestration system that runs questions through 100+ researcher profiles across 25+ virtual "think tanks" (business strategy, policy, legal, creative, security, and so on), each with distinct perspectives and expertise. Multiple AI models, multiple angles, synthesised into one output.

  • There's also a personal executive assistant that lives in Slack. It triages my email, manages my calendar, monitors WhatsApp, and delivers a daily briefing. It drafts replies but never sends without approval.

  • And some monitoring tools that watch web pages for changes and alert when something matters.

These all started as personal experiments. Some are becoming agency tools. A few I'll share publicly.

Side projects

  • ismypubfucked.com – In April 2026, UK pubs face a business rates revaluation that could increase their bills by thousands. This site lets you find the most affected pub near you, explore all 42,000+ pubs on a map, or look up your local. Each pub gets a "Fucked Index" score based on how badly they're hit.

  • More to come...

How I work

I write about building over here. Mostly what's working, what's broken, and why.

If you're working on similar stuff, say hi.
